Which would you desire?

The power to destroy any obstacle in your path and move ahead with nothing to stop you, or the power to protect all that you hold dear?

It's a tough question. I would definitely like to have the power to forge ahead, but I think protecting the ones I care about is more important to me.

What would you choose?

Absolute power would be cool, but I couldn't stop myself from being consumed by it. I'd prefer Soul Calibur, and protect what I already have.

Of such great powers or beings there may be conceivably a survival... a survival of a hugely remote period when... consciousness was manifested, perhaps, in shapes and forms long since withdrawn before the tide of advancing humanity... forms of which poetry and legend alone have caught a flying memory and called them gods, monsters, mythical beings of all sorts and kinds...

Soul Calibur. Protecting is better than destroying.

Soul edge, because when you think about it, it really doesnt matter if it posseses you to take souls. I mean what else are you going to do with it? (Plus I am power hungry) :P

i can say in all honesty i crave power but not to destroy more for world conquering purposes but that would involve alot of darkness so neither one would truly work for me. now if we could dual wield or switch depending on the need then i'd say that.

Soul Edge. If I've destroyed my enemies, then I wouldn't HAVE to protect what I cherished. So what if I lose my soul to it? I've destroyed what will seek to do my friends and loved ones harm, and my task would be done. All I would ask then is that someone destroy me afterwards before I become a threat to them as well.

Losing your soul to protect someone you deeply care for isn't a bad thing. You've given up your soul in the name of ensuring a better, safer future for those whom you care about. That's the greatest gift I could think of. How could that be bad?

Killing begets more killing. If you were to destroy your enemies, their families and friends would strike back. Only destroying every other human being besides those you intended to protect would allow your loved ones to be safe, and you would have alienated those you claimed to cherish. In so doing you would become that very thing you sought to destroy.

I would choose Soul Calibur, and turn back the darkness, rather than letting it rule me.

First off have you been watching Gundam Seed or Wing recently lol.

Second off but what can we achive without at least acknowledging the darkness within us. I say we need to embrace both the dark and light within us to truly gain power well that and peace of mind. Oh or know our true name lol then almost nothing could stop you.

My wife has never watched any gundam shows. Probably never will.

Pure Darkness and Light can never be combined. Shadows retreat when a candle is held to them, and so it is with Soul Edge. Against the pure light of Soul Calibur, it can never have the ultimate victory.

And knowing your "true name" is just a load of bull that is constantly spouted by new agers. I have a name. It's Akio. I rather enjoy it. How could knowing my "real" name change anything? Cut me, I'll still bleed. Shoot me, I'll still probably die (depending on where I was shot, among other things). My point is, the only path to true strength is to embrace the light. No "true name", or "twilight" will change that. Demons live in the dark, and so I don't even go there.

The Darkness has a way of bringing out all that is bad about us, so it's something that needs to be restrained, controlled, and eventually disposed of. If you honestly believe that attempting to embrace both good and evil simultaneously will get you somewhere, I believe you are mistaken. In my personal beliefs, this is something where you pick a side and fight for it. But, it seems to me that we carry different belief systems, so I won't press this any further, as this could very easily turn into a fight, and I don't want to see our newest moderator have to flex her muscles this soon.

Soul Calibur for me. I would never choose something as evil as Soul Edge.

After seeing the evil caused by Soul Calibur (play SC Legends and SCIV), in hindsight, I'd destroy both swords.

It's too much power for anyone to be trusted with.

Agreeing with Cassandra, are we? I don't blame you. I would use Soul Calibur, as I said earlier, but after seeing the evil Soul Calibur caused as well, I would likely destroy it all the same.

As Mitsurugi said, "Weapons are just tools". They can be good or evil. It all depends on the user. But power, I think, is inherently evil after a certain point. Soul Calibur had reached that point.
