It's not very useful in actual combat anymore. In Harmony, it was completely useful. In Aria, it was there simply because Harmony had it, and the same goes for every game since. Symphony's was pretty useful, but that AWFUL SCRAPING SOUND!! It drove me crazy.

Point is, it's really only useful in avoiding traps, which don't occur much anymore.

So I think the backdash should be dropped.

What about you?

Nothing should be dropped, if only because it improves the games aesthetics and is just there for the sake of making the heroes look awesome.

End of discussion.

I found it fairly useless as well.

They should give the heroes Julius's ghost dash thingy from AoS.

The only way Backdash would be cool is if we saw a SIMON BACKDASH.

I agree with Shadow. The ghost dash Julius had should be the new standard.

While we're on the dashing topic, what about Juste's forward dash in Harmony? I'd love to see that come back.

Juste's forward dash made things way too easy. Ergo, it should be a new standard, in keeping with Iga's preferred difficulty.

But then, Julius wouldn't be so unique and "ultimate", would he?

When was Julius "Ultimate"?

I don't recall that!

Juste's backdash was the last useful one in the series.
Backdash can still work, but here's what Konami needs to do to make it successful:

A.) They need to make it easier to do multiple backdashes in succession

or

B.) They need to make the backdash cover MUCH more distance in a single shot

These are the only two ways I can see a backdash being successful again.

Or they can make the enemy patterns wicked, so that you'd NEED to backdash.

It should be dropped. It really should.
