A very broad topic, I know. Discuss anything related to the portrayal of mythology in Castlevania here.

Of such great powers or beings there may be conceivably a survival... a survival of a hugely remote period when... consciousness was manifested, perhaps, in shapes and forms long since withdrawn before the tide of advancing humanity... forms of which poetry and legend alone have caught a flying memory and called them gods, monsters, mythical beings of all sorts and kinds...

I think the mythology in CV should be junked for the most part, with just the horror movie stuff as per the NES trilogy.

Let it be no other way, and let us rejoice for those who are brave and boldly step out into an uncertain future and let us pity, comfort, and then gently nudge in the right direction those who lack the bravery or ability to do so by themselves."

It's awesome the way they use (and sometimes change) mythological stuff.

Most of the time, they get it wrong, but it's not liek a movie or anything, so that can be excused. Most of the mythological creatures presented in Castlevania are ones I've never heard of (I'm Chinese, in case you didn't get the Memo).

Still, they make for interesting enemies, and I enjoy the assortment.
