Man. People just can't wait, can they? The minute 4 is released, they start talking about 5.
Here's a few rumors I've heard:
Devil May Cry 5 will be a prequel to 3, explaining what Dante meant by "It's been a whole year since we last met". Vergil would be highly possible as a key character.
DMC5 will be a PSP exclusive.
DMC5 will NOT feature Dante
DMC5 will be a sequel to 2 and feature Dante's son and the return of Mundus (hinted at in DMC1 by Dante).
DMC5 will continue Nero's story, and Dante will once again be a side character.
DMC5 will be about Sparda's rebellion.
These of course are the rumors I've heard that I think could actually happen. I've heard others like "Sparda will be revived in DMC5 as a villain", but those probably won't happen.

I heard it will be a PSP exclusive and will feature Vergil as the main character!

I just got wind of a new rumor:
DMC5 might be about Lady, Trish, and/or Lucia!

Let's assume Dante is in DMC5. How will he play? Will he even be playable this time around?

Depends on the console I guess. PSP or PS3 means he'd probably play like he typically does (Post DMC3 style), but a Wii release (unlikely) would feature a vastly different playing style. An Xbox360 release would feature similarities to his DMC4 style.

...You did NOT just say that.
Everybody knows that if Dante is taken out, thousands of screaming, raging fans will storm capcom and kill the creators.
I'll be happy to do it if it comes down to that...but I'm hoping it doesn't.
On a different topic, which two DMC ladies would you guys like to see face off? I think a Lady vs. Trish fight might possibly be the coolest thing ever. |

...Actually, no, I haven't had a chance to play it yet, since I haven't been able to get my hands on an Xbox360 and am still saving up for a PS3, but that just makes me want to play it even less, and adds to my list of gripes about the game.
GODDAMN IT THEY WERE AWESOME!!!!! NOW WE'VE GOT DAMSEL IN DISTRESS KYRIE AND THEY'VE TURNED LADY AND TRISH INTO BIMBOS?!!?
