This is how alternate difficulties should be handled. Exclusive enemies, upped ai's, added moves for enemies from lower difficulties, added bosses and altered enemy placement.
It makes the game maddeningly hard and I breathe a sigh of relief when I make it to the next ROOM.
And after DMC, we lost that until DMC4. Why? What happened? Did Capcom decide that challenging more experienced players was a bad thing?
I think that DMC4 returned to the series' roots, and the game turns out better for it.
What do you think? |

I wish Castlevania did that...
Yeah. It's pretty awesome. Hard as hell, but (as it is oft said), it gives a real sense of victory/fulfillment when you beat it in that mode. _________________ I CAN HAS 343 GUILTY SPARK?! CAN YOU THROW IN CORTANA TOO?! THANXORZ!! |

Ugh DMC Dante must die mode.
Truly as fun as it is challenging, I have yet to beat it still. It is kind of a shame that we missed out on that kind of difficulty for awhile. |

I had a hell of a time with Hard mode in DMC and I only played a couple missions of DMD before I decided that I didn't want to have to break my controllers.
Still, I like the way its handled better than in DMC3, that after you kill 3 enemies the rest DT until DMC3 where you have about 30 seconds before they all DT. _________________ ]Is the iPhone the Next Great Force in Portable Gaming? Find out here: http://doctamario.wordpress.com |

Like Shadow, I have yet to beat it. I'm on the final battle against Phantom. He's REALLY hard.
It is, simply put, the best extra difficulty mode of all time. _________________ When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. I hated playing that mode, but I was determined and fought till the very end... and ended up crashing the plane in the final escape. _________________ I am a warrior. Dante Must Die was a real rave the first time through, but I died so much that it killed my incentive to do it again. But I do not dispute it's awesomeness. _________________ "I must not fear.
